Decatur County Farm Bureau Inc. will be coordinating the 20th annual Ag Day Fair for fourth grade students of Greensburg, North Decatur, South Decatur and St. Mary’s Elementary Tuesday, April 9.
This is a tremendous volunteer effort by local farmers, agribusinesses and the community Sheriff’s Department, fire departments, EMS and others. In all, approximately 70 volunteers came together to make this one-day event happen.
FFA members from North Decatur Junior/Senior High School, South Decatur Junior/Senior High School and Greensburg Community High School assist as exhibit educators and group guides for the several hundred fourth graders, their teachers and chaperones. In all, more than 400 students, teachers and chaperones attend the Ag Day Fair activities.
The event will feature 21 educational exhibits which will include live animals, birds, and products from the wide variety of agriculture enterprises in Decatur County.
This is a positive, exciting local event that features area experts sharing their knowledge with local children. Ag Day Fair begins shortly before 9 a.m. and is expected to last until approximately 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 9.
