South Decatur students honored at State FFA convention

WEST LAFAYETTE – Seven members of the South Decatur FFA participated in the many activities at the State Convention held at Purdue University June 18 to 20.

Tori Weber and Lexie Armand served as the chapter’s delegates for all of the busines sessions. Jacob Johnson and Will Smiley participated in the Discovery Animal Science demonstration while Zane Brown participated in the Discovery Public Speaking contest.

Megan Vanderbur finished fourth in the state with her freshmen speech on the state of the cow-calf industry today. The highlight of the convention belonged to Morgan Tomson as she was named State Star Farmer. There were 336 state degrees handed out Wednesday night, and Morgan’s was selected as the top production application for 2013.

The FFA congratulates Morgan and all members of the chapter who attended.
