BATESVILLE – The Food and Growers Association of Laughery Valley and Environs (FGA) has announced the date for its annual meeting.
Thursday, September 19th, 2013 at 6:30 PM, all FGA members and the public are invited to attend the annual meeting, to be held at Batesville Intermediate School Cafeteria. The theme of the meeting is ‘Food as Medicine’. Three presenters will speak on this topic: Kathy Cooley, dietician at Margaret Mary Hospital, and Randy and Debbie Mullins, who have changed their lives and health through food. Hearty tastings, featuring fresh, local vegetables, fruit, nuts, cheese and meats will be presented by Chef Adam Israel of Big Four Café and Izzy’s Catering.

The Food and Growers Association of Laughery Valley & Environs was formed to respond to the needs of farmers, parents and health professionals who see the connections between community health improvement, sustainable agriculture and a viable local economy in the Laughery Valley and its Environs. FGA is an initiative to build a sustainable local market for foods produced in and around Laughery Valley.
