Chamber holding 28th annual golf outing

(Continued)

The outing will be held at North Branch Golf Course, which is located at 8492 East Base Road. Emsweller said the event rotates each year between the North Branch Golf Course and the Greensburg Country Club golf course, largely because it provides variety for participants and gives an economic boost to both golf courses.

The golf outing will take place Saturday, August 9, with the registration table opening at 10 a.m. and tee time at 11 a.m. Lunch will be provided by Izzy’s Catering, a Chamber member from the Batesville area. Burgers and brats will be served, as well as side dishes, drinks and desserts.

During the outing, there will be a number of prizes that can be won by golfers for scoring a hole-in-one. The hole-in-one contest is sponsored by First Federal Savings and Loan. First Federal paid the insurance for the event, allowing the Chamber to use the money saved to purchase some of the amazing prizes for the outing. First Federal Savings and Loan also provided an eight day, seven night Hawaiian vacation, which can be won at one hole. Another hole features a 2014 Chevy Impala as the prize and was sponsored by Tom Sibbit Chevrolet. Other prizes for scoring a hole-in-one include a television, a $500 visa gift card, a kindle fire, and a set of Cleveland golf clubs, depending on which hole the golfer is at when they score.

Other holes will feature special contests and prizes. For example, participants can expect to find longest drive, best ball, and closest to the pin contests at different holes on the course. Special prizes will be available at most of the holes during the 18-hole game. During the game, a beverage cart, sponsored by Crystal Clear Window Cleaning and Shirks International, will be traveling around the course, offering beverages to players. AVI Food Systems provided snacks and drinks for the event, which allows the Chamber to earn extra funds.
