---- — Coming up this month with Main Street Greensburg is the Winter Farmers’ Market. It will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 8, in the Greensburg City Hall gym. At last month’s market, we had delicious baked goods, handmade craft items and fresh eggs! Be sure to come out and see what we will have this month. WIC/SNAP credits are accepted at all our markets. The last Winter Farmers’ Market will be April 12.

Looking for a volunteer opportunity? Main Street Greensburg is helping out “Go Greensburg, Keep it a Cleansburg” again this year for a clean-up of our city. It will begin at 9 a.m. on April 5. We will start downtown and go from there. If you are bringing a large group, please let us know ahead of time otherwise, just meet us at the gazebo on the Decatur County Courthouse lawn. Come out and help us keep our city clean!

Main Street Greensburg would like to thank everyone who attend the seminar “Staying Relevant to a Changed Customer” on Feb. 21, as well as the Greensburg/Decatur County Chamber of Commerce, ISBDC and MainSource for partnering with us to make the seminar possible. The speaker, Marc Willson, did a wonderful job and the main take-away from his seminar was to have a strong online presence and be open later.

We are excited to announce our new event this year… Do you claim to have the best pork tenderloin sandwich in Indiana? Prove it! Join us in Downtown Greensburg on July 19 for the First Annual Tenderloin Throwdown. Each participating team will line up around the Decatur County Courthouse, cook their famed sandwich and enter their creation to win in one or more of the following categories: Best Breaded Tenderloin, Best Grilled Tenderloin, Most Creative Tenderloin and People’s Choice. Winners will receive a prize package and more importantly, bragging rights. Come show us your loins! Contact me for registration information.

As always, Main Street Greensburg has apparel ($10-25), Reflections… The History of Decatur County book ($40) and commemorative benches ($1,500) for sale. Apparel and books can be purchased at the Farmers’ Markets, in our office and now, online! Contact me for more information on sponsoring a bench for downtown.
