Fed OKs Tower Bank Acquisition
The U.S. Federal Reserve Board has approved the merger of Evansville-based Old National Bancorp. (Nasdaq: ONB) and Tower Financial Corp. in Fort Wayne. The more than $100 million deal was announced last September and Tower’s shareholders approved it in February.
Ground Broken on Distribution Project
Construction is underway on a $6 million expansion to a distribution facility in Boone County. Hachette Book Group and Indianapolis-based Duke Realty Corp. (NYSE: DRE) broke ground on the project in Lebanon Business Park, which is expected to be complete in October.
Manufacturer in Michigan City Grows
A wire rope and cable industry supplier is planning to expand its Michigan City operations. Sandin Manufacturing says the move will result in a larger facility and a small number of new workers.
Research Park Company Lands Federal Contract
A U.S. Department of Defense agency has awarded a $750,000 contract to a team led by Purdue Research Park-based Indiana Microelectronics LLC. The two-year deal involves developing technology to protect military broadcast communications against intentional and environmental interference.
Gibson County Delegation Heading Overseas
A 15-member southwest Indiana delegation will leave next month for Japan. The Gibson County Economic Development Corp. says the group will be comprised of students, educators and businesses representatives.
