YMCA Learning Center receives MainSource donation

BATESVILLE – MainSource Bank generously donated six of their gently used Dell computers to the YMCA Learning Center last Thursday. “Computers are such a core, but expensive tool in school these days, the Y staff is very grateful,” said Dawn Denny, YMCA Assistant Childcare Director.

“The computers are a great added resource to our childcare program. Our school age students in after school care can use them to get homework done, and our preschool children can be introduced to technology and also play some age appropriate learning games,” said Denny.

John Clerkin, Community Reinvestment Act Officer - MainSource Bank, said of the donation, “With technology changing rapidly, we have to update our computers fairly often. In the past, we paid a company to come and remove the aging computers. This year, we decided that since the computers were still in great condition that we would refurbish them and donate them to not for profit organizations within the communities we serve. MainSource Bank has donated 175 computers company wide over the last 2 years.

This donation benefits the children, the environment, and hence the whole community.
