---- — Ritz Calls For Examination of ‘Broader’ A-F Issues

Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz says a preliminary investigation into the state’s A-F accountability system has verified “manipulation” of grades during the 2011-2012 school year. She says there are “broader issues” that must be examined and is meeting with Senate President Pro Tem David Long and House Speaker Brian Bosma to determine how the system can be applied for the 2013-2014 academic year.

IU Trustees to Meet in Indy

The Indiana University Board of Trustees will meet Thursday and Friday at IUPUI. The agenda includes a long-term financial projection and the oaths of office for new board members.

Cider Brewery Eyes More Production

A startup apple cider brewery in northeast Indiana has begun production and is planning additional growth. Chapman’s Brewing Co. in Angola currently employs seven people, but Founder Scott Fergusson tells Inside INdiana Business he hopes to have 15 workers within a year.

Former RV Supplier Plant For Sale

The former Carriage Inc. property in Elkhart County is up for sale. The plant, which stopped production in 2011, is being sold in 15 separate parcels with a total listing price of $5.6 million.

IPFW Hires Alumni Relations Director

Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne has named a new director of alumni relations. Justin Busch is an IPFW graduate and has worked for U.S. senators Dan Coats and Richard Lugar.
