---- — GREENSBURG – Brandon Hellmich, teen volunteer at Morning Breeze Retirement Community & Healthcare Center, has received the Indiana Health Care Association (IHCA) 2013 Volunteer of the Year Award.
Brandon began volunteering at Morning Breeze Retirement Community & Healthcare Center when his grandmother was a resident at the center two years ago. Today, he volunteers several times a week at the center, playing euchre with the residents.
“We are delighted that the Indiana Health Care Association has recognized Brandon for his ongoing volunteerism at Morning Breeze Retirement Community & Healthcare Center. At only 16 years of age, Brandon has a passion for the senior healthcare community. He always has a smile and is eager to encourage residents to play cards. It is wonderful to see his bright smile and to know that he loves what he is doing,” said Holly Cole, Executive Director at Morning Breeze Retirement Community & Healthcare Center.
The Indiana Health Care Association is Indiana’s largest trade association and advocacy group representing for-profit and not-for-profit nursing homes, as well as assisted living communities, adult foster care and adult day services. The IHCA provides education, information, and advocacy for health care providers, consumers, and the workforce on behalf of its members.
