Indianapolis-based Project Lead The Way has received a boost from a Wisconsin company. Bemis Co. has announced $830,000 in funding to schools in 12 states to support implementation of the Indiana organization’s high school engineering program.
Pence retools state grant office
The Office of Federal Grants and Procurement has a new name. Governor Mike Pence has signed an executive order changing it to the Office of State-Based Initiatives. The OSBI will examine federal grant opportunities and discuss the findings with Indiana’s Congressional Delegation.
Stonegate Mortgage Expands in Florida
Indianapolis-based Stonegate Mortgage Corp. has opened a new Florida office. The company announced earlier this month it was pursuing an initial public offering through the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
State to Share in Drug Company Settlement
The state of Indiana will receive more than $650,000 from a settlement. A multi-state lawsuit against Wyeth Pharmaceuticals Inc. claims the drug-maker defrauded the Medicaid program.
Cummins Records Lower Profit
Columbus-based Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) is reporting second quarter net income of $414 million, compared to $465 million for the same period a year earlier. Chief Executive Officer Tom Linebarger says the company did see increased demand in medium duty trucks in North America.
