Ladies, men, and children, check your closets for good, unwanted, outgrown, wearable, clothes in good, clean condition to donate to the Westport clothes closet.
They will be accepting your items August 13. The “closet” will then be open for “business” August 14 to 16.
Ladies, if you’re interested in using up some of your material and trim “stash,” check our website (www.sandcreekbaptistchurch.com) and go to “Outreach” for the “pillowcase dress” pattern and instructions.
You can make them at your home or as I mentioned, last week, we will meet at the church, at a later date to assemble them for children and young women in Africa. I will keep you posted for that date on case you want to join us for the fun and fellowship that will be included. Maybe even some food.
In two weeks the youth will offer cinnamon rolls for sale, on Sunday morning. This is a fundraiser for their upcoming, weekend retreat and camping trip planned for August 23 to 25. You can place your order this next Sunday or call Jan Z. or Angie, our youth sponsors.
You could even call the church office and leave an order by phone. Have you missed the humidity in the air recently? I sure haven’t. It’s been so pleasant and comfortable. If this weather has been a blessing to you and your family, add something to your “Love” box and don’t forget to say “Thank You” to the one and only always accurate “Weatherman.” Hope to see you in church this Sunday. No reservation needed.
Sunday School will begin at 9:30 a.m.
The Thankful Hearts Class lesson, “Feast Of Tabernacles” will be taken from Nehemiah 8:2, 3, 13-18. The Devotional Reading coming from Exodus 23: 12 - 17; and the Background Scripture will be Nehemiah 7: 73b - 8:18, Leviticus 23:33-43.
We welcome all to come and join in a wonderful time of sharing and learning.
Church Service will be in the Sanctuary at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Robert “Bob” Leitgabel bringing the sermon. This week’s sermon continues a series on what the Bible has to say about our human emotions. This week we will discuss “Quarreling” Ephesians 4:15-5:2 and James 4:1-12. We welcome all to come join us for a time of worship, praise, prayer, and fellowship.
Beginning Sept. 1, Liberty Baptist Church will be moving their Sunday School classes to begin at 10 a.m., and their church services will begin at 11 a.m.
We welcome all to come join us at these new times this fall. May God bless all.

We are excited about our church-wide campaign “This is Church,” coming in September. This is an eight-week journey to discover God’s design for the church.
We’ll start with a tailgate party from 12:30 to 3 p.m. September 8 at the fairgrounds. Small groups and our Wednesday program, Elev8, will kick off the week of September 8 to 14.
We’ll conclude our journey with a service Sunday, October 20, a week of service in the community leading up to Trunk or Treat October 26, and a celebration of our journey October 27.
