Church Briefs

(Continued)

We welcome all who wish to take a Lenten journey of faith as we explore what we believe and our understanding.

First Christian Church

The First Christian Church, located at 425 N. Broadway, welcomes you Sunday to our worship services at 8 a.m. (traditional) and 10:30 am (contemporary). Sunday school classes are at 9:30 a.m.

A Spaghetti Dinner supporting the Appalachian Mission Trip will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., March 2, in the Family Life Center. Tickets are $7.50 for adults and $5 for children. Contact Shelly Walsman at 663-8246 to purchase tickets.

This Sunday, we’ll look at the 6th chapter of The Story – “Wandering (Moses).” The Story takes specific selections from the NIV scriptures and places them in chronological order so the reader can better understand how God’s story and our story intersect. If you would like to join us in this study, a participant book is recommended. Books for all ages are available at christianbook.com or locally at Rainbow Books.

If you would like to catch up on the sermons, recordings are online at www.fccgreensburg.wix.com/home or you can request a CD through the church office. Classes on The Story are available during Sunday school, Wednesday nights and in small groups. For more information, please call, 663-8488.

Elev8 classes for children, junior high youth and adults will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, with a meal served for children, junior high youth and volunteers at 5:45 p.m. Senior high Elev8 classes will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Sunday night, with a meal served at 5:45 p.m. All classes at both sessions will dig deeper into The Story.

Come and support the Kids’ Closet of Decatur County Fundraiser, “ILLUMINATE!” This Christian concert starts at 6 p.m., April 12, at Greensburg Jr. High School. Tickets are $5 in advance or at the door. Local talent Mark Burkert, Steve Wills, Brad Sefton, Brian Poling, Matt Weimer, John Barton and Rachel Harter are all schedule to appear. Please call Alex Sefton at 812-614-7690 for ticket purchases! Have a great time for a great cause! You can also purchase tickets from St. Mary’s Church, Community Church, Wesleyan Church and First Christian Church! The next closet opening is from 4 to 6 p.m., April 2, at City Hall.
