Church Briefs

Remember to put that Bethlehem Baby first in your life – not only at this time of year, but every day of your life. He is a wonderful friend to have with you at all times.

Liberty Baptist Church

On Sunday, Dec. 15, we’ll be electing Sunday school and church officers following services.

At 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 22, we’ll have our Christmas program. Please bring snacks.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church

St. Mary’s school children focused on the second week of Advent by making Christmas cards for residents of local nursing homes.

The focus of the third week of Advent will be St. Mary’s Hot Meals program. The children will bring canned foods to help stock the shelves for the meals prepared every Sunday for area residents.

The kindergarten classes sang Christmas songs for the residents of the Crown Pointe Villas at their Christmas luncheon, Dec. 11.

Tasty Tuesday will be Dec. 17 after the 5:30 p.m. Mass in the school gym. In addition to the meal, a movie can be enjoyed at 6:45 p.m. The dinner is offered for a free will offering and is open to the public. It would help in planning if you can leave a message for your reservation at 812-663-8427 as soon as possible.

St. Mary’s will remember residents in our local nursing homes or senior citizens’ home during this Advent season, with prayer, cards and visits.

St. Mary’s Holiday Mass Schedule is as follows: Dec. 24, 4:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and midnight and Dec. 25 at 9 a.m. December 31, 4:30 p.m. and January 1, 9 a.m.
