Church Briefs

Sandcreek Baptist Church

First of all.............a great big THANK YOU to each of you who came to our recent soup supper. You were all very generous in support of our youth. And didn’t they do a good job? Some were doing this for the first time, but with a little urging and simple instructions, they soon became troopers, and it was a JOB WELL DONE!

Now, a very important thing to remember: Don’t forget to TURN YOUR CLOCKS BACK THIS WEEK! You’ll get back that hour you lost in the spring. I plan to turn ours back sometime Saturday so I don’t forget and arrive at church at the wrong time.

This week at Sandcreek will be a bit slower than the past few. We’ll still have ABY at 6:30 Sunday evening and the Faith Singers will practice on Saturday morning at 9.

Men, there’s still time to reply if you want to attend the Men’s Brotherhood meeting Nov. 7 at Burney Baptist. WISH-TV Weatherman Randy Ollis will be the speaker. Call Dennis Collins to make your 6 p.m. meal reservation.

Operation Shoe Box is coming quickly. Shop now for those needed items and fill one or two. The Mission Team has ordered special decorated boxes for us to use and the youth of the church will gladly shop for you or pack your boxes. Just let Angie or Jan know your need. There are still blank spaces on the sign-up lists for sharing a story with the children or being a greeter. Can you fill any of these spaces? It’s easy. Just sign your name on a list in the foyer.

How about those leaves? Aren’t they getting pretty? They’ll soon be on the ground, making a raking job for you or some energetic teenager wanting to make some spending money. But try to enjoy their beauty now. It will soon be gone; then you’ll have to deal with that COLD, WHITE, STUFF. God is certainly generous with His supply of change in/for our lives. The one He’s really interested in is if you’re a believer.

Not being raised around him, I never honed those particular skills. I have, however, helped some mechanics pay their bills.
