Sisters of St. Francis calling for unity

Greensburg Daily News

Oldenburg — The Sisters of St. Francis of Oldenburg, Indiana, will participate in a global call for unity among Earth’s people to acknowledge a needed shift in consciousness that will lead “to a more enlightened society, one built on principles of sustainability, peace, health and prosperity.”

They are joining millions worldwide in contemplative prayer on December 22, 2012 in a special Advent prayer service at their retreat center in Oldenburg.

Area residents are invited to join the Sisters and Associates at the Oldenburg Franciscan Center from 1:30-2:30pmEST and afterwards view some of the global webcasts being streamed from around the world.  There is no fee for this event, but a free-will offering will be collected for the Batesville Food Pantry as an expression of solidarity with our neighbors who struggle to make ends meet.

To learn more about the global events related to Birth2012 visit and find the schedule of live webcasts beginning  Dec. 20 and running through Dec. 22.
