Westport Wesleyan welcomes new pastor

Greensburg — Westport Wesleyan Church, located at 405 E. Bennett Street, recently welcomed Rev. Glenn D. Black as its new pastor.

Rev. Black began his ministry Sunday, June 17.

Rev. Black previously served as pastor of Westport Wesleyan Church from 1985 to 1990. From 1990 to 2012 he served as District Superintendent of the Kentucky District of The Wesleyan Church.

Prior to 1985, he served as editor of God's Revivalist magazine for nine years and as a pastor of Wesleyan Churches in Miamisburg and St. Mary's, Ohio.

Rev. Black earned a Bachelor of Religious Education degree from God's Bible School in Cincinnati, Ohio and a Masters of Arts degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion.

He is the author of two books, the editor of two books and has written numerous Sunday School lessons and articles in several publications. He is presently serving on the editing committee for the Wesleyan Church's 2012 Discipline, which contains the articles of religion, church polity, rituals, etc. for the denomination.

Rev. Black and his wife, Sharon, are the parents of three adult children, and they have three grandchildren.
