Church Briefs

First Christian Church

Sunday, June 8

We welcome you to our 8 a.m. worship service (traditional) and the 10:30 a.m. worship service (contemporary) 425 North Broadway, Greensburg. Sunday School is at 9:30 a.m.

This Sunday, we’ll look at the 18th chapter of The Story —“Daniel.” The Story takes specific selections from the NIV scriptures and places them in chronological order so the reader can better understand how God’s story and our story intersects. If you would like to join us in this study, a participant book is recommended. Books for all ages are available at christianbook.com or locally at Rainbow Books. If you would like to catch up on the sermons, recordings are online at www.fccgreensburg.wix.com/home, you can request a CD through the church office, or visit our facebook page at www.facebook.com/FCC.Greensburg Classes on The Story are available during Sunday School, Wednesday nights, and in small groups. For more information, please call the church office (812-663-8488).

Shine, a Go Fish Vacation Bible School, will take place June 23 to 27 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Registration is now open to children 3 years through fifth grade graduates. To register, contact the church office. To stay up-to-date on VBS and other children’s ministry events, like FCC Creative Kids on Facebook!

Did I say something last week about our calendar/schedule being a bit slower and not a lot going on?

Well, take a look at what is coming up.

First of all, I’d like to announce the winner of our T-shirt contest is Ashley Koontz. I will let you know when you can order one. We are now awaiting further decisions as to color, etc. Congrats, Ashley!

Last week I also mentioned that the “camp” pool is finished and ready for swimmers. Well, on Sunday June 8. the camp is inviting you/us to come down for a grand-splash-christening of the new pool. The occasion will start at 2:30 and continue on until 4:30 p.m. There will be snacks. Wear your swimsuit and come try out the camp pool.

  • Poverty has its advantages I must confess to a severe case of poverty. I never took a vow of poverty; it just seems to have worked out that way for me. I am so poor the church mice have packed their bags and moved on. If I knew where they moved to, I might join them.Being poor
