---- — Sandcreek Baptist Church
It was good to get an update from Coleen, our most recent missionary.
She will be going to Austria next month and we need to keep her in our daily prayers. She asked for us to cover her with prayer that her travel arrangements will all go smoothly and she will have housing when she arrives in Austria. She is beginning classes to learn German and asks that she will do well in them so she can talk and witness to the young people she will be coming in contact with.
We were also reminded that our VBS will be from Oct. 7 to 11. All county schools are scheduled to be on Fall break at this time. “Sonwest Roundup” is the theme and the first thing each evening will be a meal followed by lessons and fellowship. Mark your calendars now and plan to send/take your children and their friends so they can learn more about our loving God.
Start now to collect items for our annual “Operation Christmas Child” shoe boxes. If you include a bar of soap, like I always do, make sure it’s a bar of Ivory. A lot of the recipients have to bathe in the nearby rivers and lakes and if they drop regular soap it’s gone! However, as we all know, Ivory.
And now, what can I say in closing today? The weather is supposed to get hot and humid again but you have probably already heard about that. Then there’s the serious trouble in the other parts of our world where people without our God are fighting for their control. They just need to “Let go and let God” be in control. He is anyway, even if we don’t recognize/accept it. Sometimes we need extra prayer to help us accept His plan for our world. We need to pray that we are able to be His witness to help make the world a better and safer place for everyone to live.
Join us at Sandcreek, this Sunday, to get a “jump start” on getting the strength and knowledge to do what He wants us to do. Sunday School is at 9 a.m. and our traditional service follows at 10 a.m. See you there.
