Sunday, Sept. 15

Liberty Baptist Church will share a joint service with Burney Baptist Church, at the Youth camp at Westport with Sunday School beginning at 9:30 a.m. and church services beginning at

10:30 a.m. in the chapel. Pastor Robert (Bob) Leitgabel will be giving the sermon, “Fearfully And Wonderfully Made,” taken from Psalm 139:14, with a pitch-in to follow the service. All who are interested are welcome to come join us for a time of worship, praise, prayer and fellowship.

May God bless all.

Sunday, Sept. 22

Beginning this Sunday, we will be starting our series on I Peter Chapter 1, “Good Seed.”

Sunday, September 29

New Bible Study will begin at 6 p.m. on “The Time Between the Testaments.” It will be study of what transpired in Israel after the Old Testament and before the New Testament, including a study on the Temple in Jesus’ day.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church

Confirmation students and sponsors will take part in the Confirmation Rite of Enrollment at the 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 15 Mass. Following Mass, a breakfast and meeting will be held at the new school, 1331 East Hunter Robbins Way.

This Sunday is also Catachetical Sunday, a wonderful opportunity to reflect upon the role that each person plays, by virtue of Baptism, in handing on our faith and being a witness to the Gospel as well as rededicating himself or herself to this mission as a community of faith. We appreciate all volunteers in teaching the religious programs.

Tuesday, Sept. 17, is again Tasty Tuesday. Dinner will be served in the school cafeteria after the 5:30 Mass, at approximately 6 p.m., at 1331 East Hunter Robbins Way. The menu will be pork barbecue, hot dogs, cole slaw, chips, brownies or lemon bars and lemonade or iced tea. This is open to the public for a free will donation. Everyone is welcome, so bring your friends and family for an enjoyable evening.

  • Poverty has its advantages I must confess to a severe case of poverty. I never took a vow of poverty; it just seems to have worked out that way for me. I am so poor the church mice have packed their bags and moved on. If I knew where they moved to, I might join them.Being poor
