Sunday, Sept. 22
Beginning this Sunday, we will be starting our series on I Peter Chapter 1, “Good Seed.”
Sunday, September 29
New Bible Study will begin at 6 p.m. on “The Time Between the Testaments.” It will be study of what transpired in Israel after the Old Testament and before the New Testament, including a study on the Temple in Jesus’ day.
St. Mary’s Catholic Church
Confirmation students and sponsors will take part in the Confirmation Rite of Enrollment at the 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 15 Mass. Following Mass, a breakfast and meeting will be held at the new school, 1331 East Hunter Robbins Way.
This Sunday is also Catachetical Sunday, a wonderful opportunity to reflect upon the role that each person plays, by virtue of Baptism, in handing on our faith and being a witness to the Gospel as well as rededicating himself or herself to this mission as a community of faith. We appreciate all volunteers in teaching the religious programs.
Tuesday, Sept. 17, is again Tasty Tuesday. Dinner will be served in the school cafeteria after the 5:30 Mass, at approximately 6 p.m., at 1331 East Hunter Robbins Way. The menu will be pork barbecue, hot dogs, cole slaw, chips, brownies or lemon bars and lemonade or iced tea. This is open to the public for a free will donation. Everyone is welcome, so bring your friends and family for an enjoyable evening.
Sandcreek Baptist Church
This Sunday is Women’s Sunday at Sandcreek and the ladies of the church will conduct the worship service. Our special guest speaker will be Emogene, wife of our pastor, Harold Carter.
“Save the date!”
The ABY will meet at the church that evening at 6.
“Save the date!”
We have several important days to mark on your calendar. The first is Tuesday evening, Sept 17.
At 7 p.m., the ladies of the ABWM will meet to coordinate the fabric and trim we have received to make pillowcase dresses. We will be completing this mission soon. If there are any of you that are helping us in this project, we appreciate any and all that you do/have done. If you want to know more about this project visit our website at wwwsandcreekbaptistchurch.com or call the church at 663-3009 or the website and go to “outreach.” You will find a pattern and directions for making the dresses.
“Save the Date!”
On the Sept. 22, we will hold our regular business meeting following the morning worship. We urge you to plan to attend. As always, we need each of you to help in making important decisions that concern the ministry and function of our church.
“Save the Date!”
Another event coming quickly is our VBS to be held in the evenings of Oct. 7 to 11 during our county-wide Fall Break from school. This will be a week of fellowship, music, crafts, games and, most importantly, lessons to help us learn more about our God and His plans for us. Each evening will begin with a free meal at 5:30 p.m. and the evening will close at 8 p.m. We welcome all, age 3 through grade 6. Older youth can assist as helpers. We’ll be looking for you. Ask your friends to come with you.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we knew the time and day that Christ would return and we could “Save that Date?” Of course, as the Bible tells us, no one, not even Jesus Himself knows that “time and date.” So we just have to be ready and just to be safe maybe we should “Save every Date” for Him. Why not start today and plan to be in church somewhere this Sunday?
