Greensburg Daily News

---- — Sandcreek Baptist Church

BUSY, BUSY TIMES!!!! Our weekly calendar is really full causing us to cancel practice for the Faith Singers Saturday morning because the deacons and lots of needed helpers will

gather at 9:30 a.m. to do the “pre-decorating” of the sancturary and surrounding areas.

We urge any and all who are free to join us as we prepare our church for the Christmas season and our “Hanging of the Greens” service that will be at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 1.

At the close of the service, we will celebrate communion and then be dismissed to partake in a meal prepared and furnished by the ladies of the ABWM. If you have a favorite dessert and want to share it they would appreciated it.

On Dec. 1 and 8, we will accept your donation to the M&M offering.

On Sunday, Dec. 8 the congregation will participate in a “progressive” celebration with Zion Methodist and Smyrna Lutheran churches. The afternoon will begin with us at Sandcreek at 3 p.m. and we will progress on to Zion and conclude the afternoon at Smyrna about 5 p.m. Following their program, we will join together in a meal and fellowship.

Hope you will plan to attend all of this “progressive” afternoon/evening special celebration event.

The Wednesday night Bible study group WILL meet Dec. 11. This is a change from the information given last week. They will not meet until Jan. 14.

At noon Dec. 12, the ladies of the ABWM are planning a Christmas get-together lunch at the Hope Tea Room. You need to make your reservation with Barb or Dianna.

If you have not already confirmed your poinsettia order with Mary C. it needs to be done this week as they will be a part of the service next Sunday.

And after you’ve done all of the previously mentioned things, we’re still encouraging you to add some non-perishable items to the tubs in the hallway for the Edna Martin Christian Center in Indianapolis. There is plenty of room in the tubs for your generous donation. An unknown friend will be thankful for your help.

Now, having said all of these things, I’m hoping you’ve set aside your busy plans and will attend church during this very Holy season. Take time to consider the upcoming birth of the Christ Child and what He has meant to you, your friends and/or family. If you look closely, you’ll find more than one way you have been touched and blessed because He was born.
