Olympics on TV

The 2014 Winter Olympics begin Friday in Sochi, Russia, with the Opening Ceremony highlighted by the Parade of Nations. The United States will be sending a record 230 athletes as part of its delegation. NBC plans to air more than 500 hours of coverage across six networks.

Here are our daily picks for what to watch for:

Feb. 7: Opening Ceremony, 8 p.m. EST, NBC

Feb. 8: Snowboarding, freestyle skiing, figure skating, 8 p.m. EST, NBC

Feb. 9: Figure skating, biathlon, speed skating, 2 p.m. EST, NBC

Feb. 10: Curling (USA vs. Norway), 5 p.m. EST, CNBC

Feb. 11: Figure skating (pairs short program), 10 a.m. EST, NBCSN

Feb. 12: Nordic combined, 3 p.m. EST, NBC

Feb. 13: Men’s hockey (USA vs. Slovakia), 7:30 a.m. EST, NBCSN

Feb. 20: Women’s hockey — gold medal game, noon EST, NBC

Feb. 22: Bobsled (four-man) and speed skating (team pursuit), 8 p.m. EST, NBC
