South Decatur scored 19 runs before Oldenburg was able to put one
run on the board in the fifth inning.
“We played a great ball game tonight. It is great to get that first win in
the sectional opener,” reported Coach Lisa Huff. “We hit the ball well
and took advantage of 11 Oldenburg walks, but the girls were patient
at the plate and that paid off for us. Haley (Holdreith) and Courtney (Apperson) both had
good nights at the plate by hitting the ball solidly”
Offensive statistics for South Decatur were: Kieghlea Owens two
singles, Jamie Huff single, Emily Nobbe double and two RBIs,
Britney Apperson a single, Haley Holdreith two singles, a double
and five RBIs, Ashleigh Ewing two singles and four RBIs, Krista
