North Decatur hosted the girls’ golf squads of Jac-Cen-Del and
Lawrenceburg on the Bridge nine at North Branch Golf Course and
came away with a sweep by defeating both squads.
The Chargers posted a score of 197 to edge Jac-Cen-Del by four
strokes. The Tigers finished another 19 strokes back with a score of
220.
Medalist honors for the meet went to Kristen Hicks of Jac-Cen-Del
who carded a 43. North Decatur’s Tara Lecher won second medalist
honors with a 46 and her teammate Whitney Beard tied
Lawrenceburg’s Sunderman for third honors with 48.
Following Lecher and Beard were Katie Gahimer and Abby Stewart
with 52 each; Taylor Rempe 57 and LeAnn Power 61.
Hicks was followed by Konradi 52; E Hicks 53; Gilland 53; Walke 53
and Lunsford.
Completing scores for the Tigers were Coriell 52; Gray 58; Guzman
62 and Rainey 66.
“It was good to be at our home course and shoot a score that is a bit
more respectable. I was glad to see Beard and Lecher continue to
play well, and I feel like the entire team is ready to have a break out
match with several low scores any day now,” reported Coach Dan
Borns.
The Chargers now have a season’s record of 3-2.
They will host East Central and South Decatur in another triangular
meet Thursday afternoon.
