Beef & Boards welcomes 2014

New Year's Eve celebration

INDIANAPOLIS – Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre welcomes the New Year with a celebration of dining, dancing and delightful live entertainment! It’s just the ticket to start 2014 off right.

Chef Odell Ward’s dinner buffet, complete with hand-carved roast beef, is served from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., just before that evening’s performance of Lend Me A Tenor. This Tony Award-winning Ken Ludwig comedy was called “uproarious” and “hysterical” by USA Today, and marks its 25th Anniversary in 2014.

Starring Beef & Boards favorites Eddie Curry, Jeff Stockberger and David Schmittou, Lend Me A Tenor is set in Cleveland in 1934 where the world-famous tenor Tito Morelli, Il Stupendo, is scheduled to perform as Otello. But he arrives late and, through a series of mishaps, is given a double dose of tranquilizers! His pulse is so weak that Saunders, the general manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, and his assistant, Max, believe he’s dead. Desperate for the show to go on, they try to salvage the evening by dressing Max in one of the Otello costumes to fool the audience. But Morelli comes to, dresses in a different costume and prepares to perform. Now there are two Otellos being chased by women in lingerie who each think they’re with Il Stupendo!

Following the performance, the Blue Bus band takes the stage so patrons can dance the rest of 2013 away. Playing together for more than 15 years all over the Midwest, the group plays a variety of music from jazz standards to Motown, classic rock and R&B.

Then at midnight a balloon drop and champagne toast ring in 2014, followed by Chef Odell’s delicious breakfast buffet!

All tickets to this special celebration are $77.50, and include party favors in addition to the dinner and breakfast buffets and live entertainment.

For reservations, call the Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre Box Office at 317.872.9664 anytime between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays.
