Greensburg — Art on the Square Gallery in downtown Greensburg is celebrating its fifth anniversary.

To mark this milestone, the gallery is hosting a party and fundraising event Thursday, May 2 from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

The casual evening will feature pizza and beverages, music by Bill Rethlake, activities, and a silent auction of works by local artists and artisans. All proceeds will benefit the gallery. Tickets are limited and are $25 per person. They can be purchased at the gallery or by calling 812-663-8600.

The special feature of the May 2 celebration will be award winning Plein Air artist Larry Rudolech painting and visiting with guests in the gallery. His work will be sold at auction at the end of the evening. Rudolech attends numerous Plein Air events throughout the country annually winning many awards, and his work has been accepted to the prestigious Hoosier Salon show every year since 2001. Some of his work is currently on display at the gallery and more information can be found at

The silent auction is open to all during the month of April with bidding to end at 8:30 p.m., Thursday, May 2. Bidders are welcome during gallery during regular hours or at “Second Friday at the Gallery,” Friday, April 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. Bidders do not need to be present at the May 2 event to win.
