Art on the Square joins holiday festivities Gallery artists offer holiday silhouette portraits

GREENSBURG – Art on the Square Gallery, 114 E. Washington Street in Greensburg is excited to join the downtown holiday festivities from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6.

Visitors to the gallery will see the wonderful Hoosier Salon traveling exhibit that features works by some of the very best Indiana artists. Children are invited to create a Christmas ornament in the gallery studio.

This year, the gallery artists are making hand-cut silhouettes of children that make great holiday gifts, especially for grandparents! Just bring your child to the gallery Friday evening between 6 and 9 p.m. or from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday when gallery staff will take a profile photo of the child. The 8”x10” matted silhouette, ready for your frame, will be finished and available for pick up at the gallery in plenty of time for Christmas. Cost is $20 with proceeds being used to support the gallery.

Christmas shoppers can also find great Christmas gifts of original art and jewelry! If you aren’t sure what to buy, the gallery offers gift certificates for art work and for the popular “Gallery Night Out” classes.

Friday’s Christmas festivities will replace the regular “Second Friday at the Gallery” after hours event this month. Join us again in 2014 for “Second Friday” gatherings.

The Hoosier Salon exhibit will continue through Saturday, December 14 during regular gallery hours Tuesday - Friday, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information call 812-663-8600 or check the website, www.artonthesquaregallery.com.
