Aug. 23

The Daughters of Isabella will be having their Open Meeting at 6:30 p.m. at St. Maurice Hall in St. Maurice.

Hosting the dinner meeting will be Bessie Ploeger and Catherine Mauer. All members are encouraged to bring a friend and come enjoy the evening of great food and fun.



Aug. 24

Adult Center trip in conjunction with Historical Society of Decatur County to Indianapolis from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Cost for transportation by bus is $6.

ÒBack to School Blues Buster PartyÓ for grades 6 to 12 at 7 p.m. at Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library.

Miss Tree City 2012 is accepting applications until Sept. 1. Candidates must reside within Decatur County and be between 17 and 22 years of age. Preliminaries will be held on Thursday, Sept. 27 and the winner will be crowned immediately following the Littles on the stage Friday, Sept. 28. The winner of Miss Tree City will be competing for the title of Miss Indiana Festivals later this fall. Applications are also available at all area high schools as well as online @ www.treecityfallfestival.com.



Aug. 25

ÒAsk our Community ProtectorsÓ program from 1:30 to 3:30 at Decatur County Historical Society Museum. Representatives from Greensburg Police Department, Decatur County EMS, Decatur County SheriffÕs Department, Decatur County Animal Control and Greensburg/Decatur County Fire Departments will be on-hand to answer questions from the public. Girl Scouts registration night from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at YMCA. Pool available from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. with a limit of 50. Blue gym and game room also available. Aug. 26

The 88th Annual Bultman Reunion will be held Sunday, Aug. 26, in the St. JohnÕs Lutheran Church basement in Napoleon with a pitch-in dinner at noon.  Please bring your favorite food to share, your own soft drinks, table service and items for the white elephant sale. All descendents of Albert, Henry and John Bultman are invited to attend. The handicap-accessible entrance is located on the north side of the church.

The free preschool program for children entering kindergarten in fall 2013 or 2014 will again be offered at Greensburg United Methodist Church. The classes are offered to children who are not presently enrolled in any other preschool. The class will meet at 6 p.m. every Wednesday night at the Greensburg United Methodist Church, and the sessions  will last for approximately 90 minutes.

This program is directed by Jere' Sturges, a retired elementary preschool teacher. The goal is to offer a readiness program for the children  who will be entering kindergarten in the next two years, with suggestions for at-home activities and guidelines for child development progress.

The St. Paul Senior Luncheon Site offers Exercise with Mozart at 10 a.m. Monday through Friday. Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. on a donation basis for those 60 years and older.

The Historical Society of Decatur County museum is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission to the museum is free and special tours can be scheduled by calling the office at 663-2764.

Join us for hot, well-balanced, nutritional meals at the Greensburg Adult Center at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. If you are over 60 years old, cost is based on donations. Under 60 years of age is $4 per meal. Call 663-2232 for lunch reservations. Fun and friendship are shared daily.

Decatur County Human Services, Inc. administers the Child Care Voucher Program for Decatur County. This program provides services through licensed providers for parents seeking quality child care. Currently there is a very small waiting list. To apply for this program come to Human Services with your most recent pay stub or current school schedule. You will be asked to fill out an application and provide some general information. Our child care providers are licensed through the SIEOC. Anyone wanting to become a licensed provider may also contact Human Services at 1939 N. Carver Street Greensburg or call (812)663-8830.

If your child enjoys listening to stories, singing, dancing and making crafts, you should stop by the ChildrenÕs Room at the Greensburg Library to sign up for Story Time. It is open to children ages 3 to 6 years of age. Classes are available Monday and Thursday evenings and Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. You may call the library at 663-4455 for more information and to get registered.

Nutritional meals are served everyday at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the St. Paul Civic Center, 120 E. Washington St., St. Paul. If you are 60 years of age or older, join us for fun and fellowship. You may contact Trudy Lewis at 765-525-6306. The Civic Center is open from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
