Decatur County Events Calendar - May 30, 2013

May 31

11 a.m. - Fraternal Order of Police will announce winning numbers of this year's gun raffle on WTRE.

2 p.m. - Farmer's Market on the courthouse square.

June 1

10 a.m. - Crossroads Community Church celebrates its 40th anniversary with music and special speakers. Present Pastor Tracy McIntyre, Founding Pastor Earl Goff and Co-Founding Pastor Dick Aylor are featured speakers for the day. Event also includes a pictorial history display, catered meal, cornhole games, volleyball, basketball and children's bounce houses.

June 5

9:30 a.m. - Columbus Star Quilters Guild will host its regular meeting at the Columbus Masonic Lodge, 4131 Rocky Ford Road. All interested persons are welcome to attend. Doors open at 8:45 a.m.

June 6

10:30 a.m. - Free summer movie at Wolf Theatres: Hotel Transylvania.

4:30 p.m. - St. John’s Lutheran Church of Napoleon will hold its monthly coffee social consisting of ham, German potato salad, homememade coffee cakes and more, Thursday, June 6.

Serving starts at 4:30 p.m. and everyone is welcome. Carry-outs are available.

June 7

11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. - Annual Decatur County United Fund Strawberry Festival on the south side of the courthouse. First Presbyterian church is the rain location. Delivery available on orders of 10 or more. For more information, call 812-663-3342.

2 p.m. - Farmer's Market on the courthouse square.

5 to 7:30 p.m. - Millhousen Knights of St. John hosts fish fry including white fish, French fries, cole slaw, applesauce and dessert. To-go orders available.

June 8

7 to 10 a.m. - Greensburg Masonic Lodge hosts all-you-can-eat breakfast. Carry-outs available. Cost is $5 donation for adults and $3 for children under 12.

11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. - Decatur County United Fund hosts annual Strawberry Festival on the courthouse square.

6 p.m. - Annual banquet and meeting of the New Salem High School Alumni takes place at the New Salem Lions Club Building. Feel free to come early and browse through the Eagles Nest, located at the school, and socialize with friends. Please send reservations to Marcia Carney Snyder at 1287 South State Road 3, Rushville, IN 46173. Reservations are $20 for alumni (dues and dinner) and $10 for spouses and guests.
