Miss Tree City 2012 is accepting applications until Sept. 1. Candidates must reside within Decatur County and be between 17 and 22 years of age. Preliminaries will be held on Thursday, Sept. 27 and the winner will be crowned immediately following the Littles on the stage Friday, Sept. 28. The winner of Miss Tree City will be competing for the title of Miss Indiana Festivals later this fall. The 2012 Little Mr. and Miss Tree City Fall Festival Orientation Meeting is set for Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 6 p.m. in the Greensburg Public Library Meeting Room.

Knights of Columbus will host a smoked pork chop or tenderloin (grilled or breaded) dinner from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Each dinner costs $6.50 and includes French fries or red potatoes and applesauce. A strip dinner is available for $4.50 and a deluxe meal is offered for an extra $.50.

Decatur County Human Services, Inc. administers the Child Care Voucher Program for Decatur County. This program provides services through licensed providers for parents seeking quality child care. Currently there is a very small waiting list. To apply for this program come to Human Services with your most recent pay stub or current school schedule. You will be asked to fill out an application and provide some general information. Our child care providers are licensed through the SIEOC. Anyone wanting to become a licensed provider may also contact Human Services at 1939 N. Carver Street Greensburg or call (812)663-8830.
If your child enjoys listening to stories, singing, dancing and making crafts, you should stop by the ChildrenÕs Room at the Greensburg Library to sign up for Story Time. It is open to children ages 3 to 6 years of age. Classes are available Monday and Thursday evenings and Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. You may call the library at 663-4455 for more information and to get registered.
Nutritional meals are served everyday at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the St. Paul Civic Center, 120 E. Washington St., St. Paul.
