July 9

The monthly meeting of the Alzheimer's Support Group will take place at 4 p.m. at the Greensburg Public Library. Everyone is welcome. Questions: Contact Nancy (or Robert) Middendorf at 663-5054. The support group meets the second Monday of every month.

Make and Take Craft ÒSweet Ice Cream TreatsÓ at Greensburg Decatur County Public Library. Kids can make an ice cream magnet and enjoy a scoop of ice cream. Event lasts as long as supplies do and is located in Children's Room.

McQueen Reunion at 2 p.m. at the Park Square shelter in Hope for descendants of William (Doc) and Carmen and Ruby McQueen.

Entry of Apples on Parade. Previously prepared entries from 11:30 a.m. to noon, with judging and program on apples at noon in the Farm and Home building. Categories include salads, five ingredients or less and dessert. All dishes need to contain at least one cup of apples and serve four people or more. Recipe must be included.



July 19

St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Osgood will host a coffee social from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Menu includes homemade bread, coffee cakes, hot ham, cold cuts, tacos, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, green beans, hot potato salad, beef and noodles, salads, beverages and more. All are welcome. Event is a free will offering.



July 20

Greensburg Adult Center trip to Rising Star Casino in Rising Sun. Cost is $6 for transportation from the Center by bus. Lunch is on your own.

Ongoing

The St. Paul Senior Luncheon Site offers Exercise with Mozart at 10 a.m. Monday through Friday. Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. on a donation basis for those 60 years and older.

The Historical Society of Decatur County museum is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission to the museum is free and special tours can be scheduled by calling the office at 663-2764.

Join us for hot, well-balanced, nutritional meals at the Greensburg Adult Center at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. If you are over 60 years old, cost is based on donations. Under 60 years of age is $4 per meal. Call 663-2232 for lunch reservations. Fun and friendship are shared daily.

Decatur County Human Services, Inc. administers the Child Care Voucher Program for Decatur County. This program provides services through licensed providers for parents seeking quality child care. Currently there is a very small waiting list. To apply for this program come to Human Services with your most recent pay stub or current school schedule. You will be asked to fill out an application and provide some general information. Our child care providers are licensed through the SIEOC. Anyone wanting to become a licensed provider may also contact Human Services at 1939 N. Carver Street Greensburg or call (812)663-8830.

If your child enjoys listening to stories, singing, dancing and making crafts, you should stop by the Children's Room at the Greensburg Library to sign up for Story Time. It is open to children ages 3 to 6 years of age. Classes are available Monday and Thursday evenings and Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. You may call the library at 663-4455 for more information and to get registered.

Nutritional meals are served everyday at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the St. Paul Civic Center, 120 E. Washington St., St. Paul. If you are 60 years of age or older, join us for fun and fellowship. You may contact Trudy Lewis at 765-525-6306. The Civic Center is open from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
