Greensburg Daily News

Greensburg — The Hospital Foundation has announced that its new cookbook, "Recipes for a Cause," is now available in additional locations for last-minute shoppers.

The cookbook is a hardbound, full-color book and includes nearly 300 favorite recipes from physicians, staff and volunteers at Decatur County Memorial Hospital (DCMH.)   The book's proceeds are dedicated to help raise funds for a new building project at the facility.

According to Hospital Foundation Director, David Fry, "The book has received excellent reviews from those who have purchased them; in fact many have purchased additional books after they've had the chance to read through one.  Most have commented on the ease of preparation and lack of exotic ingredients, along with the fact that they enjoy everyone's favorites."  Fry added, "This is the first-ever full color; hardbound cookbook to be published by a community organization which not only makes it unique as a collectible but a tremendous holiday gift."

Fry said that books have now been made available for last-minute shopping at the Greensburg-Decatur County Chamber of Commerce, Crafts & Occasions, and the Edward Jones Office at Greensburg Crossing.  Books are also still available in the Auxiliary Gift Shop at DCMH, in the Hospital Foundation office, the Morning Breeze reception desk and Tree City Medical Partners' switchboard area."

"The books are still available online as is additional information at" Fry said.  "Books purchased online can even be shipped with a gift card if desired.  The purchase price of the book is $20"

Funds raised by the Hospital Foundation support the work at DCMH throughout the year.  Those seeking more information about the Hospital Foundation may find details at or by calling the Hospital Foundation at (812) 663-1220.
