I think it is wrong that the county and city would have two large fundraisers at the same time.
The Cheer Fund was in the city many years before the United Fund was ever heard of, but it seems to me that both of the fundraising efforts have to be in the way of the jobs and the economy.
We should try to join forces at this time; the Cheer Fund should be able to get their share from the total of both collections.
Agencies should see that the Cheer Fund is for the children – children that may have a small Christmas but wouldn’t have one at all without the Cheer Fund.
I would like to see the non-profit organizations be more understanding of the reasons behind the Cheer Fund. Let’s be fair to the ones who have it to donate.
