Making a mark in life
To the Editor:
I was sitting here at 6 a.m. drinking my coffee and I started thinking. I do that once in a while. I had a good life, a great family and a wonderful wife. It has been a great ride.
I think I’ve done some good and some not-so-good, but I have my friends and a daughter who won’t let me give up. I think about how I have made my mark in life, small and insignificant as it is, and we all do.
Don’t think you have nothing to show for your life, you do. Just look around you. Fifty years from now, no one will probably remember us, but we left our mark with our children and grandchildren.
Be thankful for what we’ve got and satisfied with what we did. I know this is “a lot of to-do about nothing” but it is mine and I wanted to express it.
To my friends in the nursing homes, you did your jobs and made your marks. Don’t stop.
