In the Sept. 11 edition of the Daily News, the Alzheimer’s Association extended an invitation to Columbus residents to join in the 2013 Walk to End Alzheimer’s Sept. 29.
A noble gesture, but I’m not sure how many Columbus residents are reading our local paper.
There are at least two local teams made up of Greensburg residents who will be walking this year in honor or memory of their loved ones: team “Dink & Irene,” captained by Terry Hillman; and team “Memory Keepers,” captained by Nancy Middendorf. If there are others, I sincerely apologize for not recognizing them.
According to the Alzheimer’s Association website—alz.org—they were founded in 1980, and they state: “Our vision is a world without Alzheimer’s.” Let’s join together and start with our hometown! And, as always, we thank all of our family, friends, and neighbors in Greensburg and Decatur County for their continued support.
