---- — Dear Editor:
The senior class of 1946 from Waldron High School will be celebrating its 67th anniversary at the Methodist Church in Waldron Saturday, June 2h at 11am.
This class started its freshmen year with 62 members, of whom 38 graduated: 19 boys and19 girls. The class of 1946 was the only class to have all four years of high school while World War II was raging.
This class now proudly supports a class reunion tradition that was begun 24 years by three ladies from the class: Claudine Weidner Ellington, Mildred Purtlebaugh Sosbe and Sue Thibo Lanigan.
There were 28 alumni present with their spouses at the first reunion. There are 19 from the class who are still living. Most will attend this year’s reunion except those unable to for health reasons.
All the class officers who are still living support the reunion every year. Melvin Meal, class president, Phyllis Kuhn Rasche, Vice President, Mary Stewart Wicker, Secretary, Sue Thibo Lanigan, Treasurer, and Maxine McVey O’Donnell, Class Historian. I am sure this tradition will continue for many years to come.
Our family is proud to have a third generation family member, my great niece, Kylee Wilson Thomas, working as a teacher at the school now. And Time marches on…
