4-H members and supporters thanked

Dear Editor:

As the new 4-H Youth Development Extension Educator in Decatur County, I would like to thank the entire 4-H Community for all the time and effort that was expended to make the 2013 Decatur County 4-H Fair a huge success!

This was my first official fair and I couldn’t have done it without all the support I received from the community. Working with such a great group of volunteers makes the fair an enjoyable experience for all involved, especially for the youth that work so hard to get to the fair.

Congratulations to all of our 4-H youth members on an outstanding showing at the fair! This county has a tremendous amount of talent and it is truly amazing to see the dedication that these youth put into their projects. One of the best parts of the fair was getting to meet so many of the 4-H youth members and their family members. The conversations that I had with so many of you were very insightful and I truly appreciate all of your feedback.

Please continue to share your thoughts with me as I want everyone involved in the 4-H program to have a voice. Please call, email or stop by the Extension Office so we can discuss how to make the best even better!

Also, there are two surveys on the Purdue Extension-Decatur County website that I welcome the community to fill out so I can better serve the community.

Sincerely,

Jeff Hermesch

4-H Youth Development Extension Educator

  • Many of my submitted questions remain unanswered Dear Editor: It is usually pointless to "respond to a response," but I feel compelled to do so in this instance. The critique of my letter "Why an assault rifle in the home?," by Mr. Ronald Hassler, is so poorly written as to be not worthy of note, b
