I am writing today about the proms. In 1945, I went to the Greensburg High prom with a pretty neighbor girl. In 1949, I went to the Versailles prom with another pretty girl and I went to the senior (Adult Center) prom with a pretty lady.
I liked the proms for the pretty girls in their formals and the senior prom was pretty ladies and pretty outfits. It had a good band and Owen’s boy was the leader. Anyone under 70 are still boys in my mind.
We had a great little buffet thanks to the nursing homes. I would list them, but I would probably leave someone out. I wouldn’t remember all of them.
The prom was great. A lot of friends were there. We danced the night away and talked a lot. It was different than the high school proms, more relaxed, more fun and we had a great deal of good friends. I hope this becomes an annual thing.
“To the girls, you make it happen.”
