I continue to be amazed that hidebound Republicans continue to defend, even admire, the actions of Sarah Palin, who continues to demonstrate her slim grasp on reality and seeming lack of ordinary intelligence.
What prompts this letter is a story read Friday in the Indianapolis Star covering “Billy Graham’s final sermon.”
Among the “celebrity speakers” in attendance at the Graham celebration was the aforementioned Sarah Palin. She once again made the mistake of opening her mouth, an unfortunate action which always allows bits of idiocy to escape.
In this case, Palin declared: “His (Graham’s) message transformed my mom’s life. In the ‘70’s she would tune into the Billy Graham crusades, televised. My mom was raised Catholic, and she...was yearning for something more. His invitation for people to know that they could have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ--my mom understood that from the way he would articulate it.
“She became a Christian, led the rest of the family to Christ and that, I believe, transformed the family.”
That’s a nice story, but do you think somebody should advise Sarah that Catholics are Christians?
