The Decatur County Extension Homemakers have recently introduced a few new specialty clubs and are looking for members.
According to a release from Atina Rozhon of the Purdue Extension Office, some of the new clubs will focus on sewing and quilting. The response has been good so far, she explained.
The organization was also considering starting a photography club. Given the success of the first two specialty clubs, the Decatur County Extension Homemakers have decided to kick-off the photography club this month. The new organization will meet at 6:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month at the Decatur County Extension Office. The first meeting will be on Wednesday, Feb. 17 and participation is open to anyone who is interested.
Organizers of the photography club ask those that are interested in joining to come to the first meeting, which will be informational. The group will decide the direction and interests of the club at the first meeting.
If anyone has expertise in photography and would be willing to assist the new club in their endeavors to learn more about the art, they are asked to contact the Extension Office at 663-8388.
The traditional Extension Homemaker Clubs are also open for new members. If you are interested in joining an Extension Homemaker club, but not one of the specialty clubs, feel free to contact the Extension Office for a list of clubs that you could join.
Please note that the entrance to the large meeting room at the Extension Office is located on the side of the building. Parking is available behind the building.
