One killed, one seriously injured in Decatur County crash

Greensburg — A Decatur County man was killed and another one seriously injured in a crash involving a motorcycle and a farm ATV Friday evening, an Indiana State Police (ISP) press release states.

According to Indiana State Police Trooper Matt Holley, at approximately 6:22 p.m. Friday, a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Keith M. Meyer, 27, of Greensburg was traveling southbound on County Road 220 Southwest near County Road 400 South when a Kubota RTV farm all-terrain vehicle being driven by Eugene A. Grote, 71, of Greensburg pulled out of a private drive into the path of the motorcycle.

The motorcycle struck the ATV on the driver’s side. Meyer was pronounced dead at the scene and Grote was airlifted from the scene with severe head injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. Tpr. Holley was assisted at the scene by the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department, Decatur County Coroner’s Office, Decatur County EMS, Sand Creek Township Fire Department, and IU Medical Helicopter.
