“Event ‘Fore’ Caring” discount ending soon

Monday, Aug. 12 is the last day to register under the “early bird” discount for the Hospital Foundation’s eighth annual golf outing to benefit Decatur County Memorial Hospital.

The “Event ‘fore’Caring” is slated for Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the Greensburg Country Club golf course, but to receive a $50 discount, foursomes must register by Aug. 12. It’s carts, clubs greens and good times - all for a good cause.

Annual spaghetti dinner set for Friday

A spaghetti dinner fundraiser aimed at boosting Decatur County Special Olympics kicks off at 4 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Greensburg. The cost for the dinner is $8 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. All proceeds benefit local Special Olympics athletes. The dinner is expected to last until 8 p.m.

Paint the Town!

The annual “Painting the Town” Plein Air Paint-Out will take place Friday, Aug. 2.

This event will see artists from around the state come to downtown Greensburg, setting up their easels and painting sites from around the City of Greensburg. You can watch the artists do their work from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. that day. Afterward, the works will be displayed and up for sale in a tent on the courthouse lawn from 3 to 5 p.m. The Plein Air Paint-Out is sponsored by the Arts and Cultural Council of Decatur County.
