Decatur County Events Calendar

June 29

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. - "Paws for a Cause" at Pampered Pause. Bath and nail trim for pets available for $15. Burgers, hot dogs and soft drinks $1. Proceeds benefit Riley Children's Hospital.

1 to 7 p.m. - Cancer benefit for Jack Garwood at American Legion Post 129. Dinner and carry-outs available for beef and noodles or chicken and noodles, with sides of mashed potatoes, corn or green beans, dinner roll, dessert and coffee, tea or lemonade. Cost is $6 for adults, $4 for children. Children under 5 eat free. The band Monarch will play downstairs, in the bar area, from 8 p.m. to midnight.

June 30

8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The 24th annual Tree City Classics Car Show will be held at Rebekah Park, Greensburg, come rain or shine. Proceeds from this year’s show will benefit Ayden Billingsley, a local boy diagnosed with DNA Depletion Syndrome. The event will include dash plaques, a disc jokey, door prizes, pedal car drags and concessions. In addition to the top 50 trophies, there will also be awards for Best Bike, Best Truck, Best Engine, Best Paint, Best Interior, Best of Show and others. July 3

10:30 a.m. - Free summer movie at Wolf Theatres: Rise of the Guardians.

5 to 7 p.m. - First Christian Church is collecting items to take to Oklahoma to help tornado victims - laundry soap, hygiene items, paper goods, plastic totes, school supplies, gallon jugs of water, fans, batteries, diapers, baby formula, weed eater, chainsaws, no clothing items. Bring items to First Christian Church. Call 663-8488 for questions.

July 4

10 a.m. - Tri-Kappa Fourth of July Parade begins downtown. Decatur County Historical Society will sell homemade ice cream sundaes at the museum.
