Donald Louis Schroeder, 71 Feb. 6, 1942 - Dec. 21, 2013

Donald Louis Schroeder, 71, of Greensburg, passed away Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at Heritage House Nursing Home with family by his side.

He was born Feb. 6, 1942 in Greensburg, the son of Edward Joseph and Pansy Louise (Myers) Schroeder.

He was raised in Greensburg and had been a Decatur County resident most of his life.

He was a 1960 graduate of Burney High School and was a groundskeeper at several apartment complexes.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening, fishing, the Cincinnati Reds and the Bengals.

He is survived by his former wife and friend, Elizabeth “Betty” Schroeder of Greensburg; his daughters, Cheryl (Tom) Hosmer of Brighton, Mich., Chris (Brent) Jackson of Greensburg, Marianne Schroeder of Greensburg, Martha (Mark) McDaniel of Burlington, Ky., Cecilia (Brian) Stanley of Greensburg, April (Eddie) Snider of Greensburg and Amanda Schroeder of Greensburg; his sons, Timothy Schroeder of Greensburg and Ronald (Michelle) Schroeder of Greenwood; his 27 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Patricia Hill and Mary Parsons, his brothers, Jack, Robert and Edward Schroeder.

A time of visitation will be held from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport followed by a private family service.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of Decatur/Shelby.
