Commercial shoot looking for extras

GREENSBURG – Herbert Brothers Entertainment (HBE), of Batesville, will soon be shooting a commercial March 26 in Greensburg and are currently looking for extras.

HBE attained a measure of success when their “Free Doritos” commercial was voted the most popular commercial of the 2009 Super Bowl. In addition to the “Free Doritos” commercial, they have written and filmed many humorous commercials for companies like Pepsi and Go Daddy, as well as numerous other commercials for Doritos.

The Herbert Brothers- Joe, Dave, Matt, Josh and Pete, along with their team, have grown their business and are now considered a world leader in the production of branded commercial comedy. Their commercials are funny and memorable, two qualities that companies seek when considering advertisement.

According to HBE’s website, they strive to “use humor and creativity to engage target audiences with entertaining videos they want to see and share.” The Indiana company prefers to use local actors, extras and locations whenever possible and for that reason, they have chosen Greensburg as the site for their upcoming commercial.

The Daily News spoke with HBE Co-Producer Matt Browning to learn more about the upcoming video shoot and what they are looking for when it comes to extras. Browning said HBE wasn’t certain how many extras will be needed, but he said they will be needed throughout the day March 26. Browning stressed the importance of knowing when prospective extras will be available, so HBE can plan around availability.

“We don’t expect people to stand around for eight to ten hours,” Browning said.

The shoot will be open to the public, but those watching will have to remain behind barricades. Browning said the public is welcome to come watch the shoot. The specific location is still undecided, though he stated it would be in the vicinity of the courthouse square downtown in Greensburg.
