Library enters borrowing program with Rushville

Greensburg Daily News

Greensburg — The Greensburg - Decatur County Public Library is excited to announce a Reciprocal Borrowing Agreement with the Rushville Public Library.

Rushville Library director, Sue Otte, and Greensburg Library director, Andrea Ingmire, collaborated on the reciprocal borrowing agreement. The purpose of the agreement is to further promote easy access to library materials for cardholders of the two public libraries.

With this agreement, patrons from each library will be able to get a free library card at the other library. Anyone without a library card must obtain one before taking advantage of this agreement.

If you hold a Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library card, you may take that card and a current photo ID to the Rushville Public Library to apply for one of their library cards. The same will be true for those who hold a Rushville Public Library card. They will be able to apply for a Greensburg Library card with proper ID.

This is not the same as using an Evergreen Indiana card. You must use your Rushville Public Library card at the Rushville Public Library. Items cannot be requested and transferred from either library and they must be checked out and returned at the library that owns the materials.

All fines, fees and other charges accrued at the library will be payable only at the library with which they are affiliated.

This is an exciting collaboration between our libraries and will provide a necessary service to many of our community members. The Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library also maintains a reciprocal borrowing agreement with the Bartholomew County Library.
