The “Kettle Bell Ringing Season” is right around the corner and local Salvation Army members are beginning to organize and prepare for this year’s bell ringing activities in Decatur County.
The Kettle funding provides for emergency assistance through the Salvation Army local service programs for emergency needs such as food, clothing emergency lodging, rent or utility assistance and for other critical needs.
Some other community programs through the Kettle funding are providing (TFS) Tools for School kits that include supplies for elementary students on the free and reduced lunch programs. Additionally the Salvation Army’s Nursing Home Ministries provides and distributes gifts to nursing home patients twice a year for Easter and Christmas.
If you would like to volunteer one or two or more hours for Decatur County bell ringing as an individual, family, agency/organization or community service, contact Andrea Murray at 812-212-6323.
