Pirate 8A boys beat Rushville

The Pirates traveled to Rushville Monday and came away with a tough fought win 34-32. Greensburg was trailing at the end of the 1st 7-3 and halftime 19-13.

“We were a bit rusty, playing our first game,” said coach and came alive the third quarter scoring 12 points to tie the game at 25 each. The game came down to an excited 4th quarter which ended in a tie. In overtime the main difference was the free throws we converted to keep the two point lead. I thought we played with great effort and intensity especially with a couple of our players out due to injuries. Greensburg was lead in scoring with 14 points by Luke Lozier, Kyle Sellers 9 with 2/2 on three’s, Jon Brown 4, Tucker Bailey converted a 3, and Cody Bischoff and Skyler Cordray chipped in 2 apiece. Lozier had Sellers led the team in rebounding with 6 and 5, respectively. Bailey led team with 3 assists.
