Animal Control Officer taking leave

---- — GREENSBURG – Greensburg/Decatur County Animal Control Officer Mike Wenning will be on medical leave beginning Oct. 14 through Nov. 23.

During this six-week period, there will be no pick-up of stray, non-aggressive animals. Residents of Greensburg and Decatur County may bring in stray and owner-surrendered pets to the shelter at 1635 West Park Road during business hours, which are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday; and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Emergency situations such as aggressive dogs, dog or cat bites, dogs attacking livestock, or injury/neglect must contact the Greensburg Police Department or Decatur County Sheriff Department.

All other animal control issues will be responded to in the order they were received upon return of the Animal Control Officer to his position.
