Vectren, Citizens Release Winter Projections
Two Indiana utilities are anticipating slightly higher natural gas bills this winter. Vectren Energy Delivery says prices have increased a bit from decade-low levels last year and believes bills will be about 3 percent higher. Citizens Energy in Indianapolis is predicting an increase of less than 2 percent for Marion County customers.
IWU Announces Endowment Plans
Indiana Wesleyan University is planning a $10 million endowment for several business programs. The school says it will eventually receive a $5 million endowment from the family of the late James DeVoe. It anticipates receiving matching commitments to bring the total to $10 million.
Ellspermann Selects Communications Director
Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann has appointed Dennis Rosebrough director of communications. He previously served in similar roles with the Indiana Department of Insurance and Indianapolis International Airport.
IU to be Part of Cyberattack Study Alliance
Indiana University is part of a five-year, $23 million research alliance. The collaboration will examine cyberattacks and the motivation behind them. The program is eligible to be renewed for five additional years and another $25 million.
Fort Wayne Names Deputy Mayor
The vice president of downtown development for Greater Fort Wayne Inc. has been named the city’s new deputy mayor. Karl Bandemer has experience as Fort Wayne’s economic development director and with several private sector employers.
Rose-Hulman Ranks High For Computer Science
An online publication places Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology among the top schools in the country for computer science majors. Affordable College Online says the rankings are based on the cost of a degree, accreditation and a 30-year net salary return.
Polish Ambassador to Visit IU
Poland’s ambassador to the United States is planning a visit to Indiana University. Ryszard Schnepf will be in Bloomington this month to discuss “Poland in Today’s World.” He was a visiting professor at IU during the early 1980s.
Wabash President to be Inaugurated
Wabash College will hold an inauguration ceremony Friday for Gregory Hess. He is the school’s 16th president.
Trine Announces Holtz Leadership Program
Trine University has announced a master’s offering named after a legendary college football coach. The Lou Holtz Master of Science in Leadership Program features courses that use the current football analyst’s book as a teaching tool.
