Cougars claim Bucket in Civil War

The South Decatur football team captured the Bucket Trophy Friday after defeating host North Decatur 42-21 in the Civil War battle.

After South took a lead on the first play from scrimmage, the game became a shootout as North scored just moments later.

South led 34-14 at the half in a game of a heated rivalry and a showcase of big plays.

South improves to 3-5 overall and 1-3 in the Mid-Indiana Football Conference, while North falls to 2-6 overall and 0-5 in the MIFC.
